Stress can wreak havoc on your body, causing weight gain, weakening your immune system, increasing your blood pressure, and making you tired and forgetful. Learn how exercise and food affect your body’s ability to manage stress, and how to better manage the many stress factors that carry over into your work life. We can’t always avoid stress, but we can learn to cope more effectively and feel better. During the session you will learn:
- How to mitigate different types of stress: Physical, Psychological, Occupational, Financial, Interpersonal and Family
- Ways you can identify the warning signs of stress at work
- Success tips to avoid stress before it occurs
Dr. Mason Turner is the Chief of the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center, and the Assistant Director for Outpatient and Regional Mental Health Services for Kaiser Permanente Northern California. As a clinician, he concentrates his practice in general psychiatry, addiction medicine, and the treatment of personality disorders through Kaiser Permanente’s Intensive Outpatient Program. He serves as an officer on the Board for the Mental Health Association of San Francisco, and is active on hoarding and cluttering issues through that organization. Dr. Turner is also involved in the Physician Ambassador program through Kaiser Permanente and presents to corporate groups on stress management and other mental health wellness topics.
