Sydnie Kohara
News Anchor CBS5 / KPIX TV
Award winning journalist Sydnie Kohara brings more than two decades of
experience to her position as news anchor at CBS-5/ KPIX TV.  She has lived and
reported in Asia, Europe and the U.S.

Kohara is no stranger to the world of technology.  She was the founding host of
CNBC Asia’s first show about the Internet, “dot.com”, in 1997 and later anchored
CNBC’s “CNET News.com”, exploring the people and personalities driving the tech
revolution.

Kohara was part of the KGO-TV newsroom which won the both the George Foster
Peabody Award and the Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of the 1989
earthquake, two of the highest honors bestowed in U.S. broadcast journalism.  
Nina Bhatti is responsible for the creation of leading-edge web, performance and
networking technologies at HP Labs, the company's central research organization,
and driving the transformation of these technologies into successful commercial
products for HP.

Bhatti built and leads Labs' Customer Business Innovation team, which has led to the
design and creation of novel mobile technologies for some of HP's largest customers.

Based in Palo Alto, Calif., Bhatti first joined HP in 1996, holding a position in HP Labs
as principal investigator for Internet performance research and the invention of
Quality of Service (QoS) techniques for web servers to differentiate treatment of
traffic based on client classes, application classes or server load. She served in this
role until 2000, and then joined Nokia Ventures Organization as senior investigator
for wireless Internet technology for next-generation mobile devices.

In 2002, Bhatti returned to HP Labs, and in 2007 she was promoted to principal
scientist. Over the last three years, she has led the Customer Business Innovation
team to create unique consumer experiences using mobile phones and specially
designed imaging technology. She has also done extension research in consumer
connection technologies using RFID-based technologies.

Bhatti holds master's and PhD degrees in computer science from the University of
Arizona and a bachelor's degree in computer science and pure mathematics from
University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, she has published more than 30
different papers and has filed 25 technology patents.
Since 1998 Jo has developed and implemented coaching programs that have
benefited women worldwide. Jo created the Women's Leadership Coaching Inc
leadership coaching system, and has logged thousands of hours coaching women who
are in executive and management positions, or aspire to be.

Jo has a passion for helping women develop their leadership skills, confidence and
presence, and specializes in helping women break into leadership in industries that
have been traditionally considered 'a man's world', such as technology, finance and
energy.

Jo was a faculty member with Australia's most prominent coach training organization
and trained, mentored and supervised over 100 coaches in North America, Europe,
and her home country of Australia. She has traveled widely in Europe and the US to
facilitate corporate leadership development programs for organizations including
Nortel Women in Leadership, National Semiconductor's Women @ National initiative,
Capgemini Women of the West, Rockwell Collins Women Employees Network, the
Women at Intel Conference, and Genesys (part of Alcatel-Lucent) Women in
Leadership.

Jo serves on the board of the California Professional Women's Association, is Past
President of Silicon Valley Coach Federation, and was a Committee Chair for the
International Coach Federation. She was named one of Silicon Valley/San Jose
Business Journal's 40 people to watch under the age of 40 in 2006.
